Terminology
There are some terms that are used throughout this guide to reference
various elements of the Control Manager system to avoid ambiguity. They
will be explained in some detail later in the guide, they are listed
here for reference.
Controller
A "Controller" is one of the actual USB devices on your system such as the
Yoke LE, FighterStick, Pro Pedals, etc.
Control
The term "Control" refers to one of the axes, buttons, or the POV
hat on a Controller.
Device
A "Device" is the controller that's visible to Windows and can be seen
in the list of devices that the Windows Game Controller Applet shows.
Direct Device
A "Direct Device" is a device that appears in the Windows Game Controllers
Applet using its real name such as "CH Yoke LE", "CH FighterStick", etc.
Control Manager Device
A "Control Manager Device" is a virtual device created by the Control
Manager system. These appear in the Windows Game Controller Applet as
"Control Manager Device 1", "Control Manager Device 2", and so on.
GUI (Graphical User Interface)
The term "GUI" is used as a shorthand for the Control Manager Main Screen
that you see when you run the CHCtlMgr.exe file to create programs, etc.
Game Controllers Applet
This is the Windows applet that you normally use to Add, Remove, and
calibrate standard controllers under Windows.
HID Device
The term "HID" stands for "Human Interface Device". HID devices in Windows
generally include keyboards, mice, and joysticks.
